Sveta

Three months. That was the plan when I came to Mumbai at 22 for modelling work. Two years later, I'm still here.

Sveta, from Kazan in Russia. I'm 24 now and I live in Andheri West. Most of my work is catalogue shoots for clothing websites. Long days, a hundred dresses, and a lot of standing in hot studios.

Off the set my life is simple. The gym in my building every morning. Juhu beach when the sun goes down. Colaba Causeway when I want cheap earrings, which is often.

Andheri, Versova, Juhu, Goregaon, Santacruz and Vile Parle are all close to me.

Russian and English, and a little Tatar from my grandmother. One cocktail when we go out is enough. My lungs are for the gym, not for cigarettes.

I'm small and fit, and most days my hair is up in a ponytail because of the heat. I love to dress up for a night out, but I'm not a difficult girl. Give me a good dinner and I'm happy.
